Can symptoms improve without surgery?
Bleeding, irritation and straining may improve with stool regulation and appropriate care, but symptom relief does not necessarily reverse irreducible prolapse. Separate comfort from correcting protrusion.
When is conservative care reasonable?
After diagnosis and excluding an acute problem, discuss symptoms, fitness for surgery and preferences. Agree on a measurable goal and review point rather than endlessly changing creams.
When should the plan change?
Persistent bothersome prolapse, bleeding or cleaning difficulty may justify a procedure discussion. Sudden severe pain, tissue darkening or heavy bleeding should not wait for another home treatment trial.
